Our quality results

Transparency is integral to the AcadeMedia model, both internally and externally. It is our obligation to everyone who will choose a preschool or school to accurately report what results we have achieved. Transparency is also essential to the quality work we conduct internally at all levels.
You can take part in the results within our various school forms here.

Pre-school quality results

AcadeMedia invites you to review our report on goal fulfilment in pre-school and the quality assessments of our business that are continuously conducted. You can also read about the results in the annual parental survey.

In the absence of a standardised national evaluation for preschools, AcadeMedia has developed its own technique for reporting results and recommending developments. Assessments are conducted every six months to evaluate each pre-school's methodology and how well it succeeds in relation to the curriculum. This year's reporting shows rising or unchanged values in all categories and an increase in the assessment score to 5.7 (5.6) *. In the 2021/2022 academic year, teaching at AcadeMedia preschools obtained the highest results in Language and communication (5.9) and Norms and values (5.8). The lowest results were in the target areas Culture and Mathematics (both 5.5).

Annual surveys of parents and carers at AcadeMedia preschools find those with the responsibility of raising our pre-schoolers are generally to be largely content. Annual surveys among people with children in any of Academia's Swedish pre-schools can be found to be largely content. In the 2021/22 survey, 87 percent of the guardians said they would recommend their child's preschool and 92 percent stated that their child enjoys pre-school.

The survey also asks questions regarding teaching around values and the general learning environment. One question focused on child safety in preschool – do adults intervene if a child is mistreated? Do preschool staff consider what the child thinks? The results are generally high (around 90 percent select one of the highest answer options). Outcomes around whether the outdoor environment stimulates play and learning (73 percent) and whether the child can have peace and quiet in the preschool (83 percent) show slightly lower satisfaction rates; however, the percentage of guardians who are satisfied overall with the educational activities at their child's preschool is 87 percent.

The latest available survey results for the Norwegian preschools show that satisfaction among parents and carers is 4.5 on a 5-point scale. Our German operations also conducted surveys for 2022 have also carried out this year's surveys. These results will be added once they become available.

*The assessment scale is five-pointed (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8), where the value eight refers to the highest possible quality and a four indicates that the goal fulfilment is fully acceptable in relation to the requirements in the governing documents.

Within AcadeMedia, the Swedish pre-school operations are run by Pysslingen Pre-schools, Innovitaskolan, Noblaskolan, Montessori Mondial and Vittra. In Norway pre-school operations are run by av Espira and in Germany by Joki, Stepke, KTS and Espira.

The preschool's review of curriculum's goals

AcadeMedia's preschools regularly monitor the extent to which curriculum goals are met. This evaluation is designed as a self-assessment and the main areas assessed at each preschool are based on the curriculum. The assessment scale is five-pointed (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8), where the value eight refers to the highest possible quality and a four indicates that the goal fulfilment is fully acceptable in relation to the requirements in the governing documents.

In the 2021/2022 academic year, teaching at AcadeMedia preschools obtained the highest results in Language and communication (5.9) and Norms and values (5.8). The lowest results were in the target areas Culture and Mathematics (both 5.5).

Primary school quality results

AcadeMedia’s primary schools have reached the national attainment goals for both skills and values. AcadeMedia invites you to review our report on goal fulfilment in primary-school and the quality assessments of our business that are continuously conducted. You can also read about the results from our annual surveys of students, parents and carers.

In the 2021/22 academic year, the grade results for AcadeMedia's students completing primary school remain well above the national average. The average credit score is 243.5 points (national average 229.2 points) and the percentage of students who obtained passing grades in all subjects is 80.6 percent (national average 74.1 percent). The percentage of primary school students who feel safe in their school is 82 percent (83 percent last year), while 68 percent state that adults intervene if a student is treated badly (69 percent last year).

Parents and carers are generally more positive in their responses than students, with their results often 10-15 percentage points higher. For instance, the percentage of students who would recommend their primary school is 66 percent, while 81 percent of parents and carers would recommend.

Variations in both survey results and grades are relatively large across different primary schools.

Within AcadeMedia, primary school operations are conducted by Innovitaskolan, Montessori Mondial, Noblaskolan, Pops Academy and Vittra.

The percentage of students with passing grades in all subjects

Primary school grade results

The percentage of students with passing grades in all subjects decreased to 80.6 percent, (national average 74.1 percent). When it comes to grade attainment and eligibility for upper secondary school, AcadeMedia's primary schools are well ahead of the national average.

Satisfaction among primary school students parents and carers

In our annual survey, students, parents and carers are asked questions including whether they would recommend their school. Positive outcomes are only recorded for those who marked the highest response options (7–10) on a ten-point scale.

The recommendation rate decreases among primary school students, while the percentage of parents and carers who would recommend the school is at the same level as the previous year.

Upper-secondary school quality results

Following are the results of the annual student surveys as well as information on the values and learning attainment at our upper secondary schools. AcadeMedia invites you to review our report on goal fulfilment in upper-secondary school and the quality assessments of our business that are continuously conducted.

The national average in 2020/21 was 79.6 percent, an increase of roughly one percentage point.

Results for the 2021/2022 academic year are published by the Swedish Department of Education.  The results of this year's survey should be viewed while taking into consideration the significant increases that occurred during the pandemic. This year, the recommendation rate decreased by four percentage points but is still three percentage points above 2020 levels. The same applies to work environment, which decreased from 71 to 68 percent but is still five percentage points above the 2020 level.

Results vary across different upper secondary schools and units, in terms of both survey and grade results.

Adult education quality results

On this page we share the quality results for our adult education segment. The results include all eleven brands that perform services across the country for municipalities, the Swedish Public Employment Service and the Authority for Polytechnics.

AcadeMedia’s adult education is divided into three different areas: Municipal adult education (Swedish for immigrants (SFI), basic adult education, upper-secondary adult education) and Labour market and Higher Vocational Education.

A summary of 2021’s grade results shows that the proportion who have completed their courses with a passing grade (lowest grade E) has increased in basic adult education but decreased slightly in upper secondary adult education. Both outcomes are still below the national average, however the percentage of distance learners within AcadeMedia is significantly higher than elsewhere which has an impact on results. The percentage with a degree from a Higher Vocational Education remains at 68 percent. This is a slightly lower percentage than the most recently published national average and also excludes our recent acquisition KYH, which would increase our results to 70 percent.

AcadeMedia regularly monitors the satisfaction of adult education participants with the offered activities. Results from autumn 2021 show that participant satisfaction remains high (86.0 percent) and has increased slightly compared to the last measurement (85.5 percent). However, the number of participants who would recommend AcadeMedia Adult education decreased slightly to 87.1 percent (87.7 percent in 2020).

Within AcadeMedias Adult education operations are conducted by Hermods, Eductus, NTI-skolan (NTI), Kompetens-
